40-65 acceleration entering a highway is impressive, plus I can actually increase speed going up hills.
I would imagine keeping it under 60 mph might gain 1-2 mpg but that's not me.
My Denali revs at about 2300 rpm while towing my X25 at 60 mph. I find when it really revs is in tow/haul mode as it shifts less. I'm ordering a new 2015 Yukon Denali. The new 6.2's are supposedly amazing engines.

+1. You forgot about the strong wind behind you. Less with a head wind. Oh well. It's just a boat.

23-24mpg average towing a 2000 x-star with an audi a6 3.0tdi Quattro. Same trip without the boat would be 42mpg.

that's brave, aren't you well over the A6's towing rating even with an 2000 XStar?

Really? My Denali accelerates like a raped ape up mountain passes. I actually have to use every passingb lane when towing.

At 60mph our Denali runs about 2000rpm with the 45 in tow. I've been nothing but impressed with it.

Impressive mpg numbers! Best I could tell the a6 has a 4k towing limit so that star is surely over its towing limits. Prob kinda a white knuckle driving experience with that boat back there!

Gotta remember. US and Canadia are the only 2 countries that think you need a F550 Dooley a turbo Diesel with a 200hp chip and bilt trans to tow a row boat to the pond down the street! Haha
Rest of the world puts vehicles to use to their full capacity.
That said its mighty comfortable pulling about anything I hook up to my Mega cab diesel!

I think the quattro A6 should have 2300kg(roughly 5000lbs) towing capacity, like my A8 quattro did have... should still be close with a 1st gen Xstar, but I don't think whiteknuckled...
