That is possible, but the local listing matches up with the EBay posting. Plus I don't see it posted in every major city on craigslist.

Maybe I'll retract my skepticism. It's still sounds like an unusual posting. Could be a great boat for a great price for someone. Wish I was a little closer...in distance and bank account.

question for you wise people

I am trying to sell a car on Craigslist. I get an email from a person who says he will buy the car. If i give him my cell phone number and address he will mail check. Once check has been deposited and cleared, he asked if I would call him and he would make arrangements to get car.

I told him no thanks because it didn't feel right. My question is...where is the scam in this scenario? Is there a way he can actually get my vehicle and stop payment or contest the sale? Is he after something else?

That has scam written all over it. Craigslist purchases should be cash in person. If it is a car, you could certainly go to the bank together.

32,000 already? That seems pretty expensive for a 600hr X-30 sold as-is.
