x45 center ballast/rear bilge pump

I am trying to determine the cause of an unusual electrical issue.

Everytime I try to empty the middle ballst tank the circuit breaker on the rear bilge pump pops. I cannot figure out why.

Now the middle ballast pump does not even make a noise when I turn on the switch.

I have read some of the past posts and tried some of the solutions, ie clean impeller etc.

I am thinking maybe the pump went bad and it is causing the circuit breaker to go off. it does not casue the breaker in the back compartment to pop. There are three switches labeled for each ballast tank in the rear port locker and none of them pop. Only the rear bilge switch under the driver consol pops when I hit the KGB ballast.

Just checking if anybody has had a similar issue as it is getting beyond my repair ability and I will have to take to shop at end of season.

Try swapping the wiring from one of your other pumps. There is a connector that can be switched about 18 inches from the pump. ie, put the port wiring into the center pump and turn on the port switch to see if that turns on the center pump. That would tell you if the pump is bad or if the problem lies elsewhere.

Be excellent to one another.
