our platform on our 02 X30 is raised with taller brackets. it is tucked right up under the rub rail. with no ballast it is a few inches off the water. its not a big deal for the kids and us, but for the grand parents it is an issue. of course filling the 2 1100lb bags get the platform nice and low.

It raises the platform about 2 inches.

True, my wife and mother inlaw had a helluva hard time getting back onto the Xstar w/o ballast.
