2015 x-23 need help on stock system upgrade

Hi Guys!

I ordered my boat with the upgraded sound system with 4 tower speakers. I'm thinking of adding one sub at the foot of the drivers seat and adding more power to the existing system overall because I'm really not satisfied with it at all. Also want to be able to turn the dash mounted tweeter output down somehow because it is deafening when you turn the volume up. They are on an amp shared with other speakers so I cant control the gain. I need some help. I'm no stereo guru. Thanks!!!

With the zones, we found that if we turned the sub zone up slightly louder than the other zones, that it sounds a hell of a lot better. If you turn all 4 zones' volume up at equal levels I found that you don't really get much bump out of the subs (we have 8" bow and 10"? Cockpit sub in our '16 X20). As for the tweeters, I wonder if you can just turn down the power to them on the amp?

We turn the sub and tower speakers zones up slightly from the cockpit as well. I believe the dash tweeters are ran in parallel with cockpit speakers so changing the gain on that output wouldn't help. I could be wrong on how the dash tweets are wired....

I'm doing same...have the upgraded sound also adding a pair of 7.7 to go w the 8.8 on tower and adding another 10 free air.I have a 16 in it behind driver foot area is a ton of wiring so will prob put by the other if it has proper air space. Swapping the 400/4 to another 800/8.hoping that will make do for me my last boat had 2700w.sucks two pair of 8.8 don't fit on the tower together

How much digging do you want to do? When I pulled my factory set up apart there were many issues. The amp input level gains were too high, the tower speakers were missing wires to the woofers(only the tweeters were playing) and the sub had the wire loom zip tied to 1/8" away from the cone causing a terrible rattle. I figured all this out when I was taking it all apart to add more power, new towers and a different sub. I ditched the IB sub and built a box for a JL 10W6V3.

I have been looking at adding a new sub as well but the drivers footwell is a mess. I have been looking at the Wetsounds box that is an all in one combo.

I have a 2016 x23 that I have upgraded the hole system. The factory towers are very under powered. They need 200 plus watts to run rite. As for the sub. JL make an HO 10" box that fits in the area behind the factory sub. Great add on and lowers the ohm load on sub channel so your getting the hole 600 watts of sub. Feel free to give me a shout if you need help.

No sub box lowers the ohm load.

Why won't 2 pairs of 880s fit on the tower? What boat do you have? I installed 4 880s on my 2008 X2 and had no issues.
