Head Unit for Ponton

The head unit on our 2007 Bennington has died.
We typically play music from iphones. Looking for something with a good bluetooth interface. If it directly supports Pandora/Spotify, even better. I'd go the none-headunit route but then I'd have to figure a way to fill the hole in the dash, so regular 1-DIN head unit it is.

Keeping original speakers for now, we're not audiophiles, so don't have any requirements other than what I mentioned above.
Hoping for good suggestions for units folks have used themselves!

Is it a single din size ? Do you have a flip down cover or is the face exposed to the weather ?

Check out the clarion m303 it has Bluetooth. It is not a 100% waterproof face though. Check out crutchfield for some marine radios otherwise.

I have had really good results with Jensens marine grade head units reliability in both a marine (my toon) and harsh off road applications.

It has a flip down cover but I'm sure it will get left up at some point. Yes it is single din.
I will check those out!

I had the same thing-flip up cover style. I hated that cheap and poorly designed cover. Drove me crazy. I bought a nice mounting frame and mounted the new head unit without that stupid cover since the stereo is UV and waterproof.

Metra/install bay has a new marine cover out. No latch, uses magnets. Really nice. I also like the clarion M303 as well as the M505. For a decent but cheap unit that will support a simple remote, check out the JVC marine powersports unit. 43

this may sound lazy, but buying the same brand may save you some time. if your bennie is like my premier, the "factory" sony harness was hard wired to the birds next under the helm, so a brand change would have meant re-splicing all the wires. not the end of the world, but i stayed with sony when i replaced about 4 years ago and it was a simple slide out the old and slide in the new. i don't think BT was an option at the time so we use the USB to lightening connector for music. i have the m505 clarion on my MC and it is a much better unit, but i don't have amps or good speakers on the toon so no big deal.

Is this the cover you are talking about?

I'll be looking for a cover to go over a Clarion M505.

Thanks, Steve
