Reliable to UFP Actuator Retrofit Now Available
Just ordered my retrofit kit from Waymires (www.waymires.com) today and should have it Monday or Tuesday next week. They just got them in....
If you go to their web site you can see a picture of it. It comes in 4 inch tall and 5 inch tall versions. Plus you will need to acquire the inner member (which they also carry) which depends on whether you have single disk, drums, dual disk etc. Worth the price even though I hated to pay for it... Anything beats cutting and welding a good looking trailer. I will post some pics after I get it installed... Last edited by 2010Prostar197; 04-29-2013 at 11:13 PM. |

I am in the middle of the same conversion , the difference in the depth of the master cylinder in the tube did you have to extend the flexable brake line from stock length??

Haven't gotten to that point because of a hectic job but someone else here said his length was fine.
There is a more detailed thread in the trailer section. |

Why are you changing the part out??

The swing tongue was made by Reliable which Mastercraft used for many years.
Reliable quit making the tongue and had no availability to things like master cylinders. Mine started leaking as did many others. UFP came up with a direct replacement which eliminated cutting and welding of perfectly good trailers. |

Has anyone received one of these and put it on, I have just received mine and was wondering if you had to get a pump kit to purge the old fluid out and I assume you have to put pressure on the actuator to get the air out of the lines

Just recieved mine from MC Boats yesterday so have not installed yet. I purchased a Mitty-vac power bleeder to help with the install and any furture oil changes. What I have found is that we all should flush brake fluid every two years it is in the manual. My master cylinder was full of water, everyone should take note and include flushing brake fluid with winterization.

The MityVac is one good way of doing it and it works fairly well...a little messy around the bleeder screws though. And you need an air compressor to use it which most people here probably have.
The other method is using the Motive Products pressure bleeder which has an adapter that is specifically designed for the UFP and other like type master cylinder setups. http://motiveproducts.3dcartstores.c...-Cap_p_95.html or if you want the fancier version more aimed at the commercial trailer places... http://motiveproducts.3dcartstores.c...eder_p_46.html Since I have both I plan on using the Motive one to pressure bleed and the MityVac to vacuum the fluid from the bleeder valve. Or the third method which is kind of a pain is having two people and manually moving the actuator assembly while someone opens and closes the bleeder valve. |
