I have an 08 - same hull. Slam your rear (1000+ bags in rear lockers and maybe some lead in the middle). Buy a Mission Wake shaper from Wakemakers and don't look back! I have tried all of the "suck gates" and this one works perfectly! Wakemakers can also help you plumb those bags in. Good luck!

The X45 produces an awesome surf wake, especially with the 8.1 which adds more weight right in the back center. You’ll need to search for several threads on how to weight the boat to get the best wake. Also, get a surf system such as the one mentioned above. If you get really serious get a Go Surf Assist system (https://www.gosurfassist.com) to put in an automatic system. Fun fact - the creator of Go Surf Assist has an X45.
