Moose - I don’t notice any issue at slalom skiing speed. I did loose ~3 MPH so now topspeed is about 40 whereas it was 43 before.
Curious. Lost top speed by 3 miles. Drag or exhaust back pressure?

FAE available

Fresh Air Exhaust off my X14/214
1 Piece T, MC Flat exhaust, Teak Platform, Quick Disconnect. 555 new, asking 400 plus shipping. PM and I will send exact measurements from my boat that FAE used to manufacture the FAE. Will also send directions for you to measure to ensure it will fit correctly. Only pieces you will need are the cork gaskets that go between the hull and the FAE mount. Removed from my boat since I no longer need to surf behind it. Surf behind a buddy's X30 and ski behind my X14.

No idea...

They have a video on their webpage that suggests that the water actually creates a Venturi effect (vacuum) and helps pull out the exhaust.

I imagine this is true but perhaps at higher speeds there is additional back pressure.

While I don’t like loosing the top speed I LOVE all the other benefits.

Nice hijack...

Although for someone with an x14 a good deal.

Fae

Wasn't an intentional hijack. Sorry. Hindsight being clairvoyant (what they teach us at the Navy War College) I shouldn't have done it. Again, sorry, will make a formal post.

It’s all good and perfectly fine... Just busting your chops!

If someone with an X14 is checking this thread out then it’s a good place to plant the seed.

Kwoody I believe I found the site. Is your FAE system mounted to your swim platform or brackets ?

Either email or give them a call and tell them your boat year and model and ask them about the hidden mounting options. Kwoody51 has the thru hull and I have the drain plug. I'm guessing they don't advertise these options because they won't work for all makes and models but their customer service is awesome, so if you ask for something better than the standard they will most likely deliver!
