I haven't gotten out much with my wife's work schedule. I was out yesterday and some over the weekend - got rained on a lot. I passed the first 2 deer in the pictures (both in the rain) - not quite big enough. I did pick up a nice one on camera (last 2 pictures).

Sweden Moose Hunt Update - I am going to try to keep this short.

We hunted in the mountains that separate Sweden and Norway about 2.5 hr NW of Ostersund. When we arrived we had to pass a shooting test (or at least it seemed like we had to pass). We had to take 4 shots free hand at 100 yours. 2 still shots and 2 moving shots. Those 4 shots are built into a final score. See the pictures.

We hunted for a total of 3 days and stayed in a traditional moose hunting camp. It was exactly the kind of deer camps you would see in MN, WI, and MI. The buildings were clean but no running water or electricity but we did have a sauna of course. We had about 9,000 acres to hunt on this groups camp. The hunting process is fairly simple. We had 4 guys with dogs and GPS collars and 4 guys that were placed throughout the property that were posted up. We did a lot of hiking and work (physically) during a hunt like this. The idea is the dogs are trained to drive the moose to the hunters.

Results? No moose on our team because it rained and snowed everyday which made it hard for the dogs to find a scent. One camp was luckier and I included a spy shot of their meat pole. All in all it was interesting how similar the land and the hunting cultures were. My grandfather (Swedish) started our whitetail hunting camp in the Michigan after WWII and it is so cool how similar it was.

Enjoy the pics.
