200 feet was the final depth where the casing stopped and the screen was set. We drilled ours last year and there are two aquifers near us. The first was a shallow one around 75' and the other around 150-200' depth. The larger, more desirable and less potential for contaminants was the 200' one. Unfortunately, our drilling permit only allowed us to drill to 100'. Just couldn't hit the lower one....dang.

Our current well is only 40' deep and a TON of iron. Also, with it being so close to the surface, it allows the possibility of contaminants entering from the groundwater run-off.

At the deeper level, you don't have as much of an issue with contaminants. So, even though it was deeper and cost more, you are probably better off in the long run!

I wish our house was moving but still standing still. We've met with a contractor to finish it up so hopefully we can finally get moving again! Your progress has certainly been inspiring! Thanks!

We now have concrete in the garage and are one step closer to moving in! Took about 3 hours to pour the floor and get it all done and it looks great.

Spent Sunday building the stairs in from the garage and in the back sliding door, so no more ramps to get in and out of the house. Today starts the hardwood floor and the drywall guys should be back on Thursday and Friday to finish the garage and do some touch-up in the house, then it is time to clean.

We ordered the carpet on Friday night so everything from a timing standpoint should workout for moving in on June 2nd...assuming of course we have an occupancy permit.

Lookin good. Looks like you put a drop down in front of your garage door. I wish I would have done that on my new garage, as I have a low spot under the door, and when the wind blows just right I get water in there.

Not sure if your have dogs or not, but after we moved in I built a dog bath in the garage ... basically a 2'x3' sink, complete with stairs, for my lab to get a bath ... and we use it all the time

you should be so very proud of all your accomplishments ... looks absolutely terrific
