simple poll: Does your wife/significant other drive?

I'm just curious how many of us dads get to ride or if we are just the taxi driver for the rest of the family.

Does your wife/significant other drive?

No, she keeps saying she is going to get her boaters license, but she hasn't yet........about the most help I get is while we are idling to the dock, she will hold the wheel as I put the bimini cover on.

My significant other does but don't tell my wife.

Seriously though....16 year old daughter will pull me but the wife won't.

Both of my sons are out of the house so my wife is my primary driver unless I ski with a friend. Keeping the correct boat speed is sometimes an issue, but I keep my mouth shut. She won't back the truck down the ramp or load the boat on the trailer, but I keep my mouth shut.

My wife won't drive the truck if the trailer's attached. She has expressed an interest, but so far that's as far as we've gotten. One of these days, we'll hook the boat up and go to some open parking lot and I'll work with her.

She has driven the boat, mostly just cruising around the lake. Towed me once behind the old boat, but she got freaked out when some idiot on a jet ski started jumping the wake behind me (I was on a single ski), panicked and pulled the throttle back to neutral. I had no idea there was anyone behind me, and I was pretty irritated some idiot had screwed up my run.

Since then, she hasn't really been interested in driving the boat, at least not if anyone's on the rope. She has expressed a willingness to try again, so we'll see.

How about adding a polling option of "only when forced too and if I set up the profile before getting in the water - but never puts the boat on/off the trailer". :-)

I could vote for that one.
