96 205 Surf Setup Suggestions

I am looking for setup suggestions to surf behind my 96 205DD. What have you successfully used to surf with this hull and the direct drive? I currently have two 155# Fly Hi bags, one 580# bag, and a 1325# fat seat sac. I also have a nauticurl wake shaper.

I have only tried one port side surf setup and the results were ok, clean wave with curl, just looking for more options to improve.
Setup:
Two 155's in the walkway of the bow, with 1325 in rear, and the 580 on the rear port side on top of fat seat. Wake gate starboard side 12" from rear.

Thanks,
Chad

With the Nauticurl you shouldn't have to list the boat. Might try moving the 580 to the bow walkway. More weight to the front should lengthen the wave. I run 600# Sumo sacs on each side of the doghouse with a 900# sac in the rear seat location and another 900# sac in the bow walkway. With a suckgate I get a nice surfable wave.

I am very interested in this, I have a similar boat and get a beautiful looking wave but it just doesn't have a lot of push. I am trying to use 540s on each side, a 540 on back seat and a 350 in the bow hallway with a suckgate. Just not enough push

I have a 1997 ps205. My original and best set up is 750 under rear seat with seat in upper position, 750 along surf side of dog house pushed as far back as possible against other bag. Then but the people in the boat. a couple in observer seat, one in bow, and the rest in the back. Usually its a couple of adults who claim the real seats, and all the kids in the rear seat. We can all go ropeless with this setup and it is a lot of fun, but sucks compared to my friends G23. I tried a suck gate with the 750 bags on each side of the motor shifted back about 1/3 of their length. It made a prettier wave with a cleaner curl, but I didn't have near the push. If I surfed back at all (more than a1-2 feet) from the platform I would lose the wave. I wonder if I need more weight? but I just quit trying and surf my buddies boats when I want to surf, and stick with skiing in mine.
