In my experience both needed extra weight beyond what it comes with. Ive got 1,100s in the rear lockers of our 30.

We love ours, we are at Powell right now and that boat handles the chop of Powell extremely well. Like others have already stated the wakes and waves it creates all around are awesome. You can ski, wakeboard and surf with ease. The wave is good out of the box but like mc25 said, the extra ballast helps. The only problem with it is the rear lockers aren’t as big as the x30’s are. There is no way your gonna get 1100’s in the lockers of an xt23. They come stock with 400’s in the lockers and that takes probably 90% of the room up when they are loaded to surf. For the beginner surfers learning, the stock wave is more than awesome. Hit me up if you have any questions, I’ll do my best to help answer what questions I can.

Got it!!

What are some must haves for upgrades on that boat. I am not all that thrilled about too much electronics etc. I am more concerned with good boat cover, bimini top, flooring etc.

I have an XT21 and I believe the rear locker size is the same as the XT23. The extra length was put in the cabin and the bow of the XT23. I have swapped my stock 400# bags for the WakeMakers 765# bags and they fit perfect, FYI.

IMO deckadence flooring is a must, especially with the kids, makes clean up so easy. The coolfeel vinyl is really nice and it does its job. I was really skeptical before we got our boat but it’s the real deal.
