Well I got some replacement decals and ordered new rims/tires for the trailer yesterday so I guess I'm stuck with her now.

Any ideas on a good way to get the boat off the trailer to clean it up and replace the bunks? My shop is a quonset hut so it doesn't have any internal structure (i.e., can't use a chain hoist).

I would say that that boat is well worth the effort of going through. With a bunch of elbow grease, refresh the interior & upholstery, get that 454 power slot going and man, it will be super and something to be proud of!

Absolutely, that boat is bad azz with the 454 and power slot! Back in '85 our new S&S 351w was impressive as it would pull out of the hole even with my friends Malibu Skier with a 454 until 30mph. Then the 454 would walk away to just over 50 mph so it was our multiple footer boat. With 1980's prop technology the big block Malibu suffered from prop slip coming out of the hole but the top end was strong. So was the sound of the exhaust rumble, nothing sounded as good as a big block Chevrolet pulling a footer.

Can't imagine what your boat will do with a modern CNC prop on there! Definitely worth restoring, please don't part out such a classic beast. Seen other boat brought back from the dead that were in much worse shape.
