PS 205 floor

I'm looking at a '92 205 as a second boat, for skiing only. The boat is not local so I can't inspect the floor. Does the 205 have the same issues as the 190 with the funky honeycomb floor? If so, is it only behind the engine or in the smaller sections up front as well? Thanks.

Possibly and eventually (if not already) it will have the same issue(s). However the way the floor is constructed and as you ask, the honeycomb-type floor is only behind the rear of the engine cover and the front....my point being is; only middle floor sections throughout would have that type of floor. Those pieces/places are easy access for removal and easy replacement if the need arises. I would not for a second let that issue as you ask be a showstopper.

I have a 93 190 (same basic floor configuration) and have replaced both sections (front and rear of the engine cover) with ply board and a modification to make future access a little easier.

I've done the repair a couple of times on 190s but not on a 205. It looks like the small front sections would be easy to swap but the bow section looks more involved. I guess I'll find out when I get the boat.

I don't think the flooring in the bow has any HCA in it. The ski locker does, but I never had an issue with that.

Honestly, the only one I ever had to deal with was the one behind the motorbox. MC didn't put decent sized washers on those attachment points, which is why they pulled through. I just put a strip of treated wood along the underside and got some longer bolts. That spread out the load better and I never had another issue with it.

Thanks east TX. I've had to replace the odd shaped piece in front of the doghouse on one 190. Not a big deal just have to take more stuff apart and take time to fit the new piece. I'll see what condition everything is in and go from there. It looks like the front seat bottoms may have to come out, or at least be disconnected to do the bow area.

That's not the boat. Not on CL. But it is a good deal after some sorting.

I was going to buy it this morning until he told me it’s not winterized, sitting outside and it’s been below freezing for about a month now lol
