07 x2 pump noise

Bought a x2 today the previous owner just switched to green impellers. Port and star pumps both make noise and run for about 20sec and shut off. What’s the best way to get them working?

If they’re mounted with the pump head on top, the bearing is probably rusted in the bottom of the housing. You can pull the pumps apart, remove the stator from the housing, free up, clean and grease the bearing. Reassemble with the pump head installed 180 degrees so the pump can be mounted with the head facing down.
Pretty easy process. I’ve done 6 pumps over the years and they haven’t failed since the rebuilds.

I leave the bearing on the stator and clean with PB blaster and irrigate the debris with thin film lubricant. Then lube with lithium grease as much as possible. Be careful with the 2 small magnets and springs. Watch your fingers putting the stator back in the housing. Once the magnets take hold, it will suck the stator in faster than you can blink.

I had a similar issue on mine. Basically it would run with the old impellers but would not run with new impellers.

As Neil mentioned problem is probably bearings in the motor.

There is a TT member that is selling motors only in another thread if you want to save some $
