I never would have guessed that to be an OEM tower. Like Baron said, it just looks wrong.

You have to consider where everything started from and who was making them at the time. Best I can tell the boys in Florida started using towers off center consoles the later fitted them to inboards. Vdrives quickly replaced the inboards due to their weight distribution and here we are today.

The first tower I bought was from Atlantic Tower. They specialized in sport fishing towers. It was not a thing of beauty and clashed with the lines of my 95 200 MariStar but was super strong and made a considerable improvement in the pull for wakeboarding.

Back then it was function over form.
