F250 options, what would you order...

I've been looking for a while for a new tow vehicle. After driving what's out there, I've pretty much decided to get a f250 diesel. I'm trying to decide between ordering 2019 xlt with lots of options vs. a leftover 2018 Lariat that has most of what I want but not all. So, if you were going to order one today, what would you get on it and why? I'm specifically looking for recommendations for packages (xlt vs lariat), rear end differentials, tow assist, max tow package, and any other things you have or wish you had on your truck that would make it a better vehicle. Thanks!

I would go Lariat if it was me. All the XLTs here in Ohio do not have the leather wrapped steering wheel. I know that's a weird option be concerned about but for that much $ it shouldn't be just hard plastic
Anyway... Probably save you some $ on the left over 2018 right?

Own a 17 f250 lariat. Only option I don't use is 360 cameras and seldom use seat coolers. Don't like lane departure so it is turned off. Collision avoidance is scary/comes on at wrong times so it is off

Love my heated steering wheel and heated seats. A fan of leather seats.

Got used to and like active cruise control

Use back Up camera for hooking up trailers but that is standard on most

I did the Xlt vs lariat debate a few months back on a 250 diesel. Ended up going with the Xlt. The only thing that was tempting me to go lariat was the leather which ended up not mattering enough for the price upgrade. Especially since the wife wanted seat covers anyways. It was mentioned above about the steering wheel being plastic on the xltís. I havenít done it yet but looks to be an easy and inexpensive mod to get a larait wheel. Even saw where some have used a raptor wheel and gotten the paddle shifters to work.

i have a '17 lariat that is loaded. i wanted the options without the platinum/king ranch advertisement.

360 camera is excellent in tight situations.

heated steering wheel is so nice, i would take this over heated seats.

LED headlights are a must. i would not go without these. probably the most important option to me.

auto headlights and auto wipers are nice.

i wish i had adaptive cruise control. but don't want lane departure.

take it or leave it: sun roof/moon roof, rear heated seats, cooled seats.

i added amp power boards which are really nice - they are a must for us now. we have little kids which make it easier to get them in car seats.

the most important add on was a 4 inch BDS lift. it absolutely improved the handling and ride of the truck. i highly recommend it.

If I could order a new superduty, I would get a F-350 in same configuration instead of the F-250 (added legal payload), Ultimate trailer tow camera system, and although I have a 2017 XLT I would order the 6th seat instead of the center console. FX4 shocks are worthless, I can't wait to dump those.

I'm on the fence on the sunroof, it is really nice on the lot but I am concerned about the long term enjoyment.

Little over two years later, I still really love the truck. And I towed a heavy 5th wheel toyhauler cross country with it.

My dad has an 18 King ranch 250 and my best friend has a 17 platinum 250. (I’ve got a platinum 150)

I use the heck out of the 360 cameras, the heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, the sunroof, adaptive cruise, etc. I would really consider getting one with the LED headlights as the light output on the halogens suck. Hate the lane keep assist, scares me.

Yeah, money wise Im thinking I can be out the door cheaper in the 2018 Lariat vs a customized build 19 XLT..., but the Lariat doesn't have the max tow option and I don't think it has the 5th wheel prep kit, or tow assist...

360 camera and adaptive cruise are awesome.

Seat heaters/coolers, heated steering wheel, radar guided cruise control, whatever the upgraded stereo is, remote start, front end collision avoidance/mitigation would all be wants for me.
