Adding RGB Light Rings

I put blue BlastLED light rings in the boat with the factory installed wiring. I was curious how difficult it would be to switch all the light rings to RBG ones? Obviously new rings would be in order, a controller- would I have to run new wires? How hard is that to do? If anyone has any experience with this I'd appreciate it. I'd like to gauge difficulty so I can decide if the ability to change colors is really worth it.

No experience with the rings, but I have put in RGB strips. You will need different wires and a controller. I purchased my strips, wires, and controllers from Amazon. PM me if you want a parts list.

How hard was it to run the wires?
Did you have old ones already there that made it easier or harder?

Not hard at all...I did have a small snake (the kind that HDTV installers use for fishing wires behind walls) and that made it super simple. There may be existing wires (probably not in your nice new boat, but mine has a rigged-up stereo) but with how accessible MC's boats are, it shouldn't be too much work.

Order some RGB led strips, solder connectors to them or order some with them on already and glue them to the inside of the Plexi ring. Use the RGB strips that are not 'waterproof' as the waterproof ones have a round silicone coverup and are hard to glue to the rings.
Put in new cables and controller and you're done.

Results may vary
