Feels like this thread is bowing down to the schmuck at the gas station that has this conversation....

He: "That 'yer boat?"

Me: "Yup"

"You going fishin'?"

"No, I don't really do that."

"Well then whaddya do?"

"I'm more of a skier."

"Oh, you do one of them waveboards?"

"Yeah, something like that."

"How fast that thing go?"

Do barefoot DD boats have a different prop shaft angle to help with speed? I was always under the impression that the angle of the prop in our boats is what hurt top speed the most.

As you can see the hull of those old boats has a different shape at the rear that helps with handling at higher speeds.

There were actually a couple different hull shapes. This is just one of them.
