Traffic Tickets—How do you beat ‘em?!

So this morning I got ticketed by an Alabama State Trooper for going 61 in a 45. He was going the opposite direction on a foggy morning with cars behind and in front of him, and cars behind me going the same speed as I was. Don’t know why/how he singled me out. But my plan is to take it to court and plead not guilty. What have you guys done that has (or hasn’t) worked? Any advice? Thanks in advance! Pretty sh!tty start to my day. I was taking my 5 year old to kindegarten for the first time (my wife usually takes him). This particular trooper obviously cared nothing about anything except his quota. He didn’t even ask for registration or proof of insurance. Just DL and the quickest traffic stop you’ve ever seen. Not even sure how he wrote the ticket as quick as he did. Almost like he had it prefilled.

Some places offer a diversion program you can take an online driver class and the ticket stays off your record. But you have to pay a fee.

Valentine One Radar Detector mounted to the mirror in the Maxima + Waze. You're better bet is to probably swallow the fine and pay Uncle Sam, and try to keep it off your record so your insurance rates don't spike imho. Cue the "best way to not get a ticket is to not speed" posts.

I usually get a traffic attorney at like $45 bucks. Usually gets me a lower fine and defensive driving.

I also found that state troopers in Texas don’t show up to court. Paid a lawyer, trooper didn’t show up, case dismissed.

You were speeding. I'd just see if you can amend the ticket by doubling the fine, and agreeing to diversion for 6 months or so. So long as you don't get another ticket in Alabama, it'll go away.

A lawyer will cost more than this approach, and insurance won't be affected.

Full disclosure: No clue if this is even an option in MO, but this is what I do anytime I get a ticket in Missouri or Kansas.

I’m sure they’re equivalent to Saul. Haha. But I’ve never paid more than $75 for a traffic attorney

If you were leading the pack, you win. Especially if you have a red car.
16 over in a 45 will get you a ticket every time.
