ahhh, that's a CMP sensor. generally the truck will stall, just like you shut the key off. will start right back up and be fine for awhile.
DTCs are usually a P0340 and/or P0344. they do not always set codes though.
just did 2 this morning

Does the dash go "out", as if the gauges shut off too?
Even if you are doing about 30(or any speed for that matter) it is like it is shut off? Towing or not, which in turn means no power steering or power brakes? Or lights?

well the dash will go to the exact same state as if you just got in the truck and turned the key to "on" but didnt start it. warning lamps will all come on, tach will obviously drop because it's not running.
is that what it does or do you actually lose everything on the dash?
and yes on a Pstroke you will lose steering and brakes when it stalls.

I thought about asking you this a long time ago, but never did. Mine did this back in JULY. Scared the $hit out of me, towing the boat around a corner, and BAM, steering, no brakes, nothing. Lucky for me I was only doing about 20mph, and I didn't sweep the street clean of cars, cause it wouldn't have been pretty with 11,000 pounds and no brakes.
It only did it once, and the dealer covered it no problem. But they SERIOUSLY should tell Pstroke owners about this. I had no idea, and I did not recall EXACTLY what worked and what didn't. I was too worried about everything else at the time. Started right back up. But that would not have looked good.
Does it do the same on the 6.0? Or future 6.4 or whatever is coming out?

if a 6.0 or any newer diesel stalled it would do the same thing. the power steering pump runs the brakes(hydro-boost) instead of a vacuum booster since diesels dont make vacuum.

Sorry, I meant does it have the same sensor? And if it fails, does it do the same thing?
