help with the dealer

So I need advise, I'm really looking to get a new boat, I really would like to stay with Mastercraft. Here is my issue, the local Mastercraft dealer is just not offering any kind of deals, new or used, even on the last years stock. The compation dealer just down the street from my dealers head office, has made me a great offer on a 2014 X30 with 56 hours, other then a few options on the tower speakers, and its not a colour I would choose on a new one, its in the ball park. Now its a good $$$$$$ amount less then a comparable one at the local Mastercraft dealer, now the local Mastercraft dealer is trying the bulling trick, saying they will not do any warranty work on it. Hummmm really what warranty work would there be? I'm a millwright by trade, and I'm good at fixing stuff, so other then some little stuff, that I'm will to repair on my own, what are my chances?

This is the kind of thing MC Corporate would like to hear about. Not so much the price point, but not performing warranty work. Even if you choose not to buy a MC, take the time to pass this along. There is a Contact Us at the top of the main Mastercraft page.

That's garbage. I'll tell them to deal, if they don't, then you go to corporate.

I've heard of that being a problem when buying out of area on new. I know Malibu has/had big issues with that. My understanding was mc doesn't allow dealers not to do warranty work. But I wouldn't expect any favors or anything getting done in a timely manner. Guess is you'll be on phone complaining to corporate each time you need anything.
It's a shame they're treating you that way. End up losing a potentially loyal customer.
I guess I was lucky, I bought a 2 year left over from another area and my local dealer (cinci mc) has been AWESOME.
That warranty issue was one reason I discontinued looking at malibus last year.

MC dealers must service all MC's in a timely manner. It is part of their dealer agreement. I've had this conversation on this forum and with corporate going back nearly 10 years. For customer paid service. Now with getting to the topic of warranty work, I'm sure they have the same obligation.

OP - PM me a little info and I will make some inquiries.

I do understand that dealer statements are sometimes misrepresented, just to give the benefit of the doubt.

It is amazing how a small minority of these dealers grow to a point where they forget that it is their customers that got them to be so big. They do have the advantage of protected areas and not having another MC dealer that can provide the service when they don't, but there certainly is the competition ready to take over whenever they can. I know that if I don't take care of my customers, there are plenty of other guys out there that will.

So to be very clear I do like the Mastercraft, and not so willing to switch brands, but, would the crap that comes with buying from a compation dealer really be that bad? Can the dealer really believe that he can control the market? Can the dealer really control the warranty? Yes, I can see that I may get put way back in the Q, The MC dealer did sell the boat I'm looking at original. What more do they want?
