Instead of starting a new thread, I just added on the end of this one. The ilmor part isn't $40, it's $55. I saw this Sherwood one for $26. Just wondering if anyone had tried it.

If I recall correctly, the original ilmor packaging had a sherwood impeller in it, but please don't take me up on it, it's been a couple of months I changed.

Also when you decide to unmount the pump while changing the impeller on a saltwater/cloesed cooled please be careful not to move the pump around too much!

There is a small output on the exit side of the pump with a small hose to the wet shaft seal, the small hose was stuck on it, and the small plastic fitting broke very easy on my pump when moving it around!

no need to remove the whole pump if you are good with your hands.

Yes, that one will work however there are cheaper alternatives from Marine Pump Direct......

$20.45 for one impeller kit.... http://marinepumpdirect.com/sherwood...er-kit-10615k/

Or better yet $37.68 for two impeller kits...... http://marinepumpdirect.com/two-pack-sherwood-10615k/

Your completely right, but the risk stays the same, just look at the thick sturdy hose going to the shaft seal and the thin fitting.

Also the screws connecting the belt wheel bearing and the pump housing are not easy to get to, especially the back one.

2011 6l

Would this be the same part for a 2011 6L Ilmore? Boat is in storage so I cant verify that its the same pump as what is shown but I suspect it is. Thanks for any help. The pump seemed fairly accessible so I expect to change it out without removing the pump. Also, after seeing the shipping to Canada can anyone suggest a Canadian source for impellers? Dealer is 3-4 hour drive from here so prefer to find one online if possible...

Brent

I ordered from Marine Pump Direct also, MCPartsDepot wanted $17 to ship that within the US where as marine pump was $6.50, not to mention the part was half the price.
