Moose, any feedback on this? Also, does having the bags in the nose make any difference in the distance the swim platform is off the water?

^Sorry brent. Per other board members feedback, amidships seems to be the best for the lead bags to lengthen the surf wave and not to overcook a slalom wake impact at 32+ MPH. While I still take them out if possible for slalom runs, they are fine amidships if you cannot leave them aground.

The only time I shift a few bags aft towards the surf corner is if we are surfing with only one or two aboard. Others might use more lead at the bow if their craft has extra ballast bags at the stern, again to balance height and length of surf wave, as well as help keep the swim platform from dragging.

YMMV. Either way, they are cheap, effective, compact, and can be moved easily in 50 lb increments. Highly recommended.

I run 400lbs of "LeadWake" from Jared with 200 in the bow and 200 under the observer seat. I weigh 205, so that balances things out from port to starboard. Most of my observers are lightweights, so I need the help. These bags do not move, and they are very well made.

Lead wake is an awesome product. Top notch service. I bought 700 lbs from him for our X25. Bought an X23 and use about half of it when there is 3 or fewer people on the boat. Very durable, small and fits anywhere. Can easily be hidden in compartments.
