What I didn't realize is that the X2 hull not only has lots of chines and small surface areas, but the surface area you do have to work with also has a gentle curve to it. In the curvy part of the Hull I could get 1 suction cup to stick well, but then the other cup wouldn't seal because of the curve.

The pic's aren't the best, but hopefully they will make sense.

After 10 min or so of literally trying one area and then moving a few inches and trying it again, I found a spot on the lower part of the hull that held BOTH suction cups well. The cups actually hang off the bottom about 1/8"... but I tugged and pulled pretty hard on the device and it didn't budge. I will update again after it warms up enough and I get my boat out on the water!

The only spot that I could get to work was just below the 2nd (from the back) screw on my rub rail. I just placed the black deflector part of the device directly below that screw, on the lowest part of the hull.

It seems like a great device... and for $85, if it works it will be great!
Thats what I was looking for! Have you run the boat with it yet? Thanks for the pics!

Nope, I haven't tried it in the water yet. I do still have this slim version of the wakemate, but I ended up buying a wake-shaper made my snapples on this forum.

I have been planning on putting it up for sale since I wont be using it, but I could give it a try this Thursday when I am on the lake if you would like me to? I'll just have to remember to take it with me when I head out the door!

I have the original wake shaper for my X2 and it works great. I did have to trim and remount my platform for it to fit.

I donít have pics of that version mounted, but I believe this is what he is talking about.

I think he is referring to the original wake-shaper made by snapples on this forum. That model is no longer produced... it is made out of the same type of material most suck gates are made out of... High Density Polyethylene... and it only fits on the starboard side for a Port side wake.

Snapples sells a new version made out of aluminum on his website, there are pics there and it does fit both sides.

Hope that is helpful!

The weather didn't cooperate today... so it may be next week before I get out on the lake to try this out and snap a photo.

Mine is in the mail, and I will see how it helps my starboard wave. When the weather cooperates...
