Smile 2011 X35, switch to Gen2?

Hey guys, just got a new to me 2011 X35 after four years enjoying our 2004 X30. Had the X30 dialed in pretty well for surfing and now trying to figure out the X35. It's got the Gen 1 tabs. Question: has anyone exchanged out Gen1 tabs for Gen2 tabs? Is this a plug and play deal or (more likely) more complicated than that? I'm willing to go through my dealer for the tabs if I can get them that way. Thanks for any help!

Go Surf Assist is your solution.

You can't currently get gen2 for older boats that did not have the gen2 option from the factory. That doesn't look to be changing anytime in the future as well. Go surf assist or the super surf'R by wake worx are a few systems you can add to that boat. Lots of info on go surf assist.

Buddy told me that the dealer won't install Gen2 on his '08 CSX because the computer systems are not compatible. The newer computers have a safety feature where the Gen2 tabs won't deploy after certain speeds. The old systems don't have a way to do this safety feature and the dealer is reluctant to install for liability reasons.

It would be super easy to switch the tabs out to gen 2 tabs. Just go to a dealer with a similar boat and measure up the dimensions of the tabs and take lots of pics and have a welding shop make u some or modify ur current ones to be larger using the same hinges. Or option b is buy the tabs for a newer boat and use ur existing actuators. I made mine all from scratch and it works awesome and I've compared waves to newer surf boats w gen 2 and I love mine

Thanks for the replies, guys! I just so happen to have a buddy with a machine shop and will talk with him about fabricating some new tabs to fit on the existing hinges.

You can install gen 2 yourself it's very easy, just down try to triple tab launch (on new models) your boat will roll

We 2nd the vote for "Go Surf Assist" or the "WaveControl" through wakemakers (same product). We dialed it in on our X45 this weekend and it is unreal.
