I've seen references to a "thruster" setup. What's that about?

In the picture of my board, you can see my fin set up. A couple larger deeper fins to keep your speed out of your turns, and some smaller fins just to keep the board a little tighter on the wave. If I want to loosen the board up a lot, I just pull the rear small fins off and it's much looser.

Can you remove one fin at a time or do you have to do it in pairs?

I guess you could technically pull one off at a time, but that would probably make it ride weird.
