Sharpie on Vinyl

Bless my child... Long story short I now have smeared black sharpie on white vinyl. I tried to clean up with 303 for some reason and it smeared the black sharpie about the size of a quarter. It's not too bad, but visible.

Any ideas how to get the smear mark off the vinyl? Note to self: Keep sharpies in the glove box.

Call a detail shop first. Don't put anything on it until you've talked to either a detail shop and/or Sharpie directly. Sometimes trying "other" products make it harder for them to get the ink out afterwards.

My daughter had a sharpie drawing practice in the back of our Isuzu Trooper. Red everywhere. Found a detail person who got it out. This was many years ago.....

I used denatured alcohol to get Sharpie off of white marble. It removed it completely but I would hesitate to try it on vinyl until someone who knew what they were talking about reassured me it would not damage it.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will let you know what works and if anything didn't work so well. Fingers crossed.

Several years ago, one of my a-hole buddies passed out and had a large pee pee drawn on his back. Next morning, he gets in the boat to go skiing and the Sharpie transfers from his back to the vinyl of my observer's seat. I ended up using goo gone to get 90% of it out and then let the sun take care of the rest. It was gone by that afternoon. PHEW!!!

Aqua net hairspray. Spray liberally, wipe, keep turning the towel.
