Question Vdig issues

So I just bought a 2009 x star and I have an issue. I knew the vdig didn't work properly when I bought it, the up button didn't work. So I bought a new one from Great Lakes skipper and replaced it. Turn battery and key on and nothing. No flash or anything. Like it isn't getting power also my volt meter is not working any longer. Also when I plug the old one in it no longer works at all either.
I should mention the vdigs appear the same other than the new one doesn't have a video input. Can someone help me out here ! I really hope it's something simple.

If your setup is like my '08, the VDIG and gauges are totally independent. If both are out, you either have a main dash area fuse blown or the CAN bus wire from the ECM to the dash area is disconnected.

The gauges are controlled by the MMDC box which is fed info from the ECM via CAN bus. The VDIG is fed direct from the ECM via the CAN bus.

Search here for my thread on VDIG issues for more info/ideas.

If there is a breaker out on the dash it would be on the panel just in front of the throttle right? Those just push in to reset? What is the CAN bus wire any recommendations on where to check the connections at?

I do still have power at the mmdc plug. And the boat runs. Just no gauges or vdig

If the only thing that's wrong with your old VDIG is the button, you can buy a replacement button panel from medallion. Do some searches the part numbers and ordering info is on this forum

Now as far as troubleshooting goes, if you put the old VDIG back in does it power up?

When I put the old one in it doesn't do anything anymore. I ordered a new Mini MDC. Hopefully that is it. I will get buttons for the vdig and keep it as a spare thanks.

I tried unplugging all the gauges and still nothing. No voltage at the gauges either.
