Working out all of the kinks...

Went out for an evening run last night. First run since the second carb. rebuild. Ran some Sea Foam through the fuel tank, dialed in the carb. and had the best experience ever on the lake. This was the first time since I bought the boat (just before Memorial Day) that I have not had a single issue from start to finish. I probably shouldn't say this so soon, but I think I may have finally worked out all of the kinks. I always knew there was a great boat there somewhere, which is why (much to my gf's dismay) it is still sitting in my driveway. I guess I just had to go through some of Neptune's hazing rituals before I could really start to enjoy the new purchase.

I feel you bro. Don't know if you've heard my story or seen all my posts but I just bought my PS 205 this summer too. First day the tranny went out after one hour (pissed me off b/c there is no way the guy didn't know about it). Got the transmission back in and 20 minutes in I lose fire. We practically replace everything electrical and one month and $300 later we find that the tachometer was shorting the boat. Same day we figured that out the flywheel and starter went out. Apparently the idiot put an auto starter on the boat and it ate the flywheel. Then two weeks ago the blower hose got loose and wrapped around the driveshaft. Took two hours to get out and had to replace the rear seal on the transmission. Now four months and $1600 later I pretty much have a new boat and have been enjoying the hell out of it. Next summer is gonna be awesome. Where in Oklahoma are you?

Do they make anything easy in Oklahoma. Well unless your last name is Bomar Glad to hear both of you have your rides up and running. I guess there could be nothing more frustrating than your ride not running. Just waiting for the day mine leaves me puzzled. (Knocking on all wood around me)

Nice to hear the Sea Foam resolved the issue. It helps the cause to have a boat that actually runs right (for the gf/ wf sake) Mine loves to ride but hates when I "neglect" her to fix something that needs fixed Ahh the joys of the marital bliss Little rambling there anyway glad to hear you got it done

I am in Tulsa, you? Sounds like you have probably really gotten the hang of being towed in. I know the feeling there...met a lot of really good folks as they towed me in. In fact the same guy actually brought me back twice. The embarassment seems to go away after the first 5 times...

Thanks! I do usually go out to Skiatook, it's a short drive and a clean lake. What boat are you on out there?

hmm...I am stumped here...but will respect your wish for anonymity

I will keep an eye out for something yellow and awesome...

I usually put in at Black Dog, but end up around Tall Chief frequently.

Jwhit, glad it's running top notch for you now...
Got my 96 Prostar in 03 from a Ft Worth dealership. 2 months later, back to Ft. Worth from TN with fried heads. Anyway, of course I was let down completely but the dealer order the rebuilt engne for me. for the kicker, they did take care of me by sending me back to TN with an X9 demo... Had it for a month or more until my boat was ready, then they actually brought my ride to Memphis and took the X9. It's run well ever since. (knock on wood)
