What do you think would be a better offer since we thought it was a 94 when we first spoke.

I agree.......It's a coin toss.......

What sells me on any deal generally speaking is that the boat appears to be in good condition. A lot to be said for that (assuming it is good) in that there are so many boats out there that are really trashed out and sellers swear they need nothing. I despise a dirty boat or one that someone has not taken care of. Each to their own.

Nice boats are hard to find. In photos; dirty carpet or a nasty looking engine tells me all I need to know right there.

EFI is a really nice advancement over a carburetor, there is no doubt but along with that comes the electronics (ECM, fuel pump, etc).

$10K would make me happy but as I said, $11K is OK because you have a nice low hour straight up engine. And a good find. I have observed folks search and search for boats that are in good shape and spend lot of time wishing and wanting.

Look at it this way: $9k - 11k is a decent range.... you're on the high side but the boat warrants it as well. If that were a 1200 hour boat (which is still low hours) that needed new skins and carpet, etc....I'd want to be on the low side (closer to $8.5K).

A 94 205 with EFI would be a deal for $11K but it's just not that year model.

If you get a junker somewhere else, you'll spend that delta and more on making it pURDy....Drop the cash and enjoy it and don't look back.

I paid $12k for a 93 190 with 421 hours in 2012. Worth it then and now. Yea, I'd like to have gotten it for 10 or 11 but it was there, in great shape so I jumped on it. I have put another $13k in upgrades. Still in my shop today.

The problem here is I would NEVER sell my 94 205 with EFI for 11K. Screw that! IMO it is worth more. Maybe because of what I have in it since I bought it.

I share your sentiments exactly.....

This thread started as apples and is now oranges....

But I agree with you... I have over $25K in a 93 190. It adds up and quickly becomes a hobby of sunken cost and no longer a return of any expectation....

You also have a super nice new engine too..... I'd go $12.5K today and today only for your boat if you'll deliver to TN.

That's the price I would let it go for if I was desperate for the money, which I am not. Nice try my friend.

I wouldn’t hesitate to grab that 205 for 11k. I probably overpaid on my 95 205 but after a few days out on it and the memories being made I quickly forgot about price. I sometimes wish I had an earlier model too with a carb for the sake of simplicity. Some of the early EFI parts like fuel pumps and crankshaft position sensors are becoming impossible to find, but nothing this forum hasn’t been able to work through. The 205 is a great boat, only thing that would convince me to sell mine would be a newer boat with zero off to better support my course skiing addiction! Grab it before it’s too late!

With it having new skins all around and as clean as it is, I still think I am going to go for it. I do wish it was EFI for simplicity, but we are fine with a carbed motor.

I almost texted you when I saw my dream boat recently. But 11K isn't close.
