2006 X1 Replace OEM Balast with Wakemakers sacs

In mid June, I plan to pull out my factory ballast boxes and replace with the OEM replacements from Wakemakers.
- Any specific advice if you have done this? What to watch out for?
- Specific instructions on resetting the pump timers? One of mine times out at 12 seconds today. Air pipe may be clogged.
- Current box filled in just under 2 minutes, so I guess bags will be 6 minutes for 720 lbs
- Pictures of the process?

I have an 08 X1. I pulled my tanks and installed Wakemakers package with 750s in the rear and an integrated bow sack. You might be able to squeeze a little more in there if you try. With the 750s filled, I can still fit a yeti soft bag in front of them on both sides. I recently added 300lbs of lead to the bow and it seems to do the trick without taking up too much space. I'm not thinking about pulling the bow sack to gain some storage. With the current set up, the X1 can throw a decent wave for a 205V hull.

My only tips are to make sure to add the supports on your engine compartment walls. The bags tend to bend the starboard and can put pressure on the exhaust manifolds. Also, consider re-proping.

I did the same thing

Hello:

I did this same project a couple years ago. Here is my writeup:

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Very good upgrade. My surf wave is now pretty sweet with a suction cup device on the side.

Cheers, Steve.
