MasterCraft Prostar 1985 UK HELP!

Hi there i have a Mastercraft 1985 pro star and I'm looking to start restoring the boat. Im after any places where i can pick up parts easy or anyone who i can contact who can help me get the correct parts. Im finding it particularly hard to find out info on what Ignition coil i need and what battery, everyone I've talked to has palmed me off because i can't give them a registration number. so if anyone could help me out that would be great! Im also based in UK but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try calling Midwest MC http://www.midwestmastercraft.com/
and see if they can help you or call www.skidim.com - they offer parts and are a great reference.

The engine in your boat is basically a car or truck V8, 351 cubic inches. Pretty sure it's a Ford block. Point being, if there's a place that sells Ford V8 parts for that year, you should be able to get what you need. For the battery, a Group 24 (not sure what the Euro size conversion is, but basically, just get the most powerful battery that will fit in the battery box- probably 700-800 CCA.
For an ignition coil, again, anything for a Ford 351 of that vintage should work.
FWIW, if you're going to replace the cap and rotor on the distributor, you might want to swap in a Pertronix unit. Replaces the points and condenser with an electronic ignition unit for easier starting and smoother running.

Have you tried Bradley motors in Bradford U.K for spares, specialise in American motors.
Speak with Simon at wake and ski boats uk for info, sure he will help you out on any questions, formerly of Mastercraft uk,
