My dealer told me that if something happens on the boat to video it because sometimes things don't always replicate when they do it at the dealership. Since then, I have always taken this approach because its hard to dispute that and saves them time. Usually they will just forward your video straight to the MC warranty department.

As handy as you are, the dealer could probably get you the screen and you could just switch it out. Only a few bolts and connection to change out.
I pushed to have the dealer send me the screen as you mentioned, it’s just a couple bolts and 2 harnesses that pop right off. However, they would not budge. Additionally, when I had the problem the dealer said they needed to order the screen from MC and lead time was 30 days to get the part shipped from MC. Hopefully your dealer has one in stock and they may even send it to you!

Keep us updated on your experience!

I have to be honest, this scares the crap out of me after having multiple screen problems, replacements, and days in the shop from my last boat. Seems like they still have a lot of QA issues with the electronics on these boats. This type of post is on this site far too often.

Good luck to you sir. I hope they have you fixed up by the weekend.

I had this exact issue with mine last year, I fipped my batteries and totally fine the rest of the year. Not sure why or what that did but it solved the problem for the rest of the season. Have not fired her up yet this year.

On the upside ... I never got fully wet.
I did notice that! Extremely unsafe! This was one of the concerns I said to the dealer. When I was experiencing this problem, ZeroOff would enable while driving, ballast would engage randomly, and tabs would deploy at random times. Thankfully in our boats manual controls are still able to override all of the digital controls at the end of the day.

Thankfully my wife reacted quickly by grabbing the throttle override
I am pretty much a backseat driver even when I am surfing, she thought she did something wrong and was apologizing because I smashed into the back of the boat.

I can't say I have seen "a lot" of screen issues on here compared to the amount of screens on boats
Understandably people are going to be concerned that "they are next".
I am really thinking this is a rare problem, but because of the consequences it's a big problem when it does happen.

I just want to get on the water, we haven't actually used the boat yet and our season is halfway over

I found a work around was to set everything up and then change it to the gauges screen so there weren't any selections for it to ghost pick.

Dealer of course couldn't get mine too act up for them. Told me it was water spots and the sun, which I knew was bs. I took videos of a clean screen after the sun had set. They changed it out after I gave them those.

Sorry Dave, hope it gets fixed soon.
This has happened once to us in 275 hours of use. After killing the battery switch and restarting it was all squared and has posed no issues since. Wish it would have been as simple as a remedy for you.

I am having the exact same problem on my 2013 X25. Hoping to get video of the issue this weekend now that the boat is in the water.

I’m having occasional similar issues with our 2013 X2, only happens sporadically, but has increased the speed settings to 60mph while surfing!, thankfully the manual controls override it, usually rebooting after turning off the battery works. bcd’s work around of changing screens to the gauges screen is something I will try, Being out of the warranty (only 3 years in 2013) I’m not too excited about buying a new screen so hoping to find another solution. I have also seen some posts of some people solving similar problems by switching batteries.
