The flares are molded plastic, that's the way they are. No paint involved. My daughter's Vibe is the same way.

I finally had some time to Install New Vesconite Bearings, Refurbished Prop Done by Eric himself at OJ Props, and alligned Strut:

The strut initially was out of whack and difficult to turn prop. When I disconnected the coupling, the Shaft hit the metal traingle on the Right Side of the boat, indicating that the strut was bent slightly. I used a solid metal pipe and just gave the strut a couple of pulls and it complied. Didn't require too much force. Maybe 60lbs.
Looked like this:

Now after alligning the Strut, and with the New Vesconite Bearings which don't have any, "Play" like the rubber ones, my shaft went thru the hull perfectly straight. This photo is the shaft being supported by strut only, prior to installing the 4, S30400 Bolts and nuts to secure coupling.

Then checked the run-out on the shaft and at the center it was like .003 Fine enough for Gov't work. Installed my REfurb Prop.

I wanted to Thank Eric for doing a Tremendous job on Refurb'ing my prop! I couldn't beleive how smooth it was. It felt like a New BOat, and totally broght a smile to my face. I did a power turn and unlike the ACME that hummed midway thru the turn, the OJ PROP stood tough and sturdy and felt llike he didn't complain a bit! The edges of the prop are Substantial and thick and consistent throughout. The Acme's prop's edges were thin and weak and I'm soo glad I have an OJ PROP on my boat. Iknow why Mastercraft uses OJ.

My boat now planes at 17MPh and has a lot of bite. AT WOT, I'm at 46 and she still sounds like a Jet taking off with her high pitched and deep solid sound.

A few towing pics. It doesn't look like the Tacoma is sagging. With the Double axle trailer she only drops 3/4"

i haven't had the chance to weigh the tounge weight yet.

i'm using a Stainless Steel hitch 2" drop, with a 6000lb weight limit and 600lb tounge load, and 2" Stainless Ball stamped at 6000lb
