Help.. Rooster Tail Is Killing My Goofy Surf

2011 Star.. I know these hulls arenít the best to surf with, but is there a way to kill the rooster? Weíve got the weight and the nauticurl shaper and I can get the wave pretty good size and clean on both sides, but the rooster tail splashes the surfer in the face on the goofy side. Reg side is alright cause the splash goes to starboard, assuming because of prop spin... Iíve tried playing with different speeds ranging 11-13mph and thereís not much change.. anybody with this generation star solved this problem?

Ok... I’ve already got center kgb full and the front 2 underseat bags that run on the piggyback system... even more weight?

Would a center surf tab fix my problem? I’ve seen just the center plates on some boats, was that an option for my year star? I know GSA is the 2 side plates, but I don’t feel like that would fix the rooster tail

Center tab would help out with the rooster tail.

I thought my Goofy wake was a goner until this season... (3rd season)

This year i decided to distribute the lead differently and I found it to greatly improve both surf waves and specifically the spay you are talking about on the goofy side. 600Lbs of Lead Wake is currently 60% mid ship around the tower 30% in front of the rear bags and the rest up front.

Front sacks definitely help too, but never had luck with the center tab... But with Gen II I do everything full expect for 50% port bag.

My goofy side wave looks almost exactly like that, and I’m happy with that. Again, it’s not the best, but it’s on a Star so I deal with it. My problem is the wash in the middle peaks alot higher than yours and splashes my kids in the face..

Just teach them on the regular side. Theyíll probably become stronger riders

LOL.. I’ve already suggested that to them too. They’re 7 and 9 and looked at me like I was nuts..
