I've looked at the pics of the X45 bow area and have a tough time envisioning how 12 people could fit there. Maybe one of you X45 owners could get twelve 20 somethings to sit in your bow for a pic and post it when the weather is better.

If you could get 12 bud girls that would be better.

Now you're getting this thread going in the right direction.

Precisely. Although I like the joke at the end, all they should have needed to show the jury is just how ridiculous it would have looked with TWELVE people in the bow. Who would consider this reasonable loading or within the design intent?

We've all been young and stupid but somehow most of us survive. It's not the fault of some evil corporation that didn't want to protect us well enough from ourself, it's just a fact of life. There are always going to be inherent dangers and young people are always going to ignore them. Although tragic that girl died, she would have taken a bigger risk riding home with the boy with the blood alcohol of 0.04 pulling the boat behind his truck. But then, I guess it would have been Chevy's fault or maybe Budweiser's fault. I can only imagine the pain her family must be going through and completely understand their desire to protect other families from going through similar pain but their lawsuit just isn't going to save anyone and the money won't bring back their daughter.

Im surprised that there hasnt been any lawsuits against the Automobile manufactures for causing death to stupid people not wearing seatbelts, distracted driving, drinking, overloading, showboating etc... If I cram 20 people into a ford festiva and the car goes out of control and ejects an occupant, will that be ground to sue because of a design flaw?

I am sure there has been many - we just haven't read about them. Our school district keeps 6 million on reserve for litigation. New someone who worked at McDonald's legal department - dealt with at least 20 claims a day...

What a crock. No one hooks themselves accountable for their own stupidity.
