Well you have three different hulls in there. 1991-1994 was on the same hull. 95-97 was another and then 2001-2003.

Of those I think the 95-97 is the most well rounded pure slalom tug.

91-94 probably has the softest flatest wake but it has spray and doesn't track as straight.
95-97 just a slightly taller wake but still very soft, no spray and better tracking.
01-03 Flat but pretty hard wake (suffers more at slower speeds), no spray, best tracking

I sold my 94 efi... I miss it terribly. which boat is best (imho) depends on how short you ski, and if you are in a course or not.
If you are a 32' off or shorter skier, they will all ski great
If you are a 15'-28' off skier, the 94 is as good as it gets.
If you were going to go with an 01-02 hull, i would just get an 03 hull (they have the hook that makes the wakes better) 03-08 are pretty much the same. However, i just tested out an 07 197, and its wake at 28 off sucked compared to my 94... at 32' off it was more noticeable, but very manageable.

*note the 190 and 197 are the same hulls. (to my understanding)

Poor upholstery issues on the 2001.

BrianM was likely referring to all of his evaluations as the 190 models.

91-94 for me. 91-93 with a Ford Engine and a carb, 94 with a Chevy and TBI (and ECM) if that is what you are looking for. I like all mechanical operations. Nothing wrong with a 94.

I personally like the 93 model. They all have great wakes for slalom. Unless you're in the elite Masters' club, you'll never know the difference from one to the other.

After reading all of the issues with the newer boats on here, I'd not have one but its each to their own.
