Well, today finally came and I installed the new motors. It was a simple plug and play operation. With the help of my 2 daughters and their little fingers helping get the screws out of the pump heads, it took about an hour.

My old motors sounded like drowning cats. (Not sure why I chose that analogy. I've never heard drowning cats. And if I had I wouldn't admit it here.) These new motors are purring like kittens.

Thanks again for saving me some cash!!!

Glad they worked for you Soder!

If anyone needs a motor, or more, I still have some left.

Get ready for spring with a new ballast motor, or 3! Let me know if you need any as I still have some left.

Need 3. Just PM’d you. I hear you want to install with the brass down to avoid any leaking into the motor. Is everyone doing that or leaving the brass on top?

Also do you need any o rings or addition pieces to install these motors on the pumps.

No other parts needed to install these.

Also brass down is best as if seals leak it won’t leak into the motor... see pic of one of mine with brass up. Suprisely this still worked... barely.

I had two with the head on top and one with the head down before I built shelves for each to sit on. The two with the head up leaked and also barely worked. The one with the head down was still going strong.

Thanks to kwoody51 I replaced all 3 motors to be thorough.
