Flywheel Question? The LS3 Cruise & Connect Package that I purchased from Chevrolet came with 2 flywheels. One on the engine and one in a separate box with the transmission. Both have the same part number. Is it necessary to change the flywheel? Pics attached...

That part No. references to a Auto flywheel for LS-Auto family, so you are good with leaving the one on the engine.
Use gmpartsdirect.com to reference Part No.s. That's what I do at times.

Can't wait to see this third gen with a nice new heart! My next LS swap project is going to be a E36 4door LS/T56 swap. I love the E36 Bimmer platforms and with a nice LSx under the hood they are rockets.

Thanks Jason - This was a "Package" deal so I don't understand why they sent the same flywheel that was already on the engine?

That's odd I agree, but maybe because even though you bought the Engine and Trans a drop in package, the are actually separate packages just put into the bundle. According to the part no. and the pictures of GMPD, it is a LS-Auto family flywheel.

Going on a short road trip to look at a 78 Trans Am with T-tops. Always loved this car since I saw it in Rocky II. Oh! and who could forget Smokey & Da Bandit.

Some potential there. Those are usually rusted out in front or the rear wheel wells.

My 2gen Camaro was rusted in the front fenders (leaves and water gets in the vents and sits at the bottom behind the wheel), the pans (both floor and trunk) and at the base of the rear windows are famous for that too. A ton of time to fix correctly. But 2gens are nice.

Making a "Little" progress. Trying to prepare engine bay and eliminate as much of the old wiring harness as possible. Looks like spaghetti junction!!! Need to purchase headers before installing engine - Hopefully next week!!!
