2001 Xstar Radio

I just bought a 2001 X-Star and it has an aftermarket radio with the original clarion drivers remote. The two are not compatible so I'm trying to see if anyone knows what the original radio part number was. I would like to go back factory. I know this radio isn't made anymore but was going to try to find one on internet. I've also seen where you can buy a new clarion head unit that has an 8 pin connector and buy the adapter to keep old remote. Are these adapters still available anywhere or does anyone make them? Any suggestions or links would be awesome. Thank you!

A 2001 would have probably come with a Clarion XMD series, maybe a 1 or 2. These units did not have and AUX input IIRC. I would consider getting remotes for the head-unit have now. its probably far better then the XMD series that was in there OEM.

I've been looking into getting a new remote. Might have to go that route, but was trying to avoid it. Thanks for the reply

A clarion m475 will work or the newest m309. If you do the m309 you will need a converter wire to use the older remotes but they will still work. The m475 is a direct plug in

Is there still a source to get the converter wire?

I can't recall the part number. Someone has it here in one of the more recent clarion posts. I will try and find the link but it's def still made. The issue was that it was backordered a bit as it was popular.

Do you have a link to the converter. I bought a newer radio and my old remotes dont work with it.
