Vermont had this law in effect back in the day. In fact I'm not sure if it still applies.

Potential Wisconsin Mirror Law

I grew up in Wisconsin and my wife in Iowa, we now live in Texas. We don't need a 3rd in TX, which is a beautiful thing.

We have been thinking about buying a small lake house halfway between my family and hers to spend our summers, which would mean Madison, WI. However, under WI's current law, we have only been looking for homes in Minnesota. This law would change our search immediately!

Fingers are crossed it'll pass!

I hope they change this law. Regardless it won't stop me from hitting the water without a spotter if that is the only option. I believe everyone I boat with are the safest people on the water.

"Wide field of view" is pretty vague ....could get away with a 1" fisheye mirror stuck on the windshield

I thought other states indicated minimum dimensions??

Hope it passes. What does a "wide mirror" mean?

Personally, I would be in favor of this too since we cabin in Wisconsin. Most of the people I ski with are experienced skiers/drivers and can easily handle the mirror law.

I do worry about the wallys pulling tubes though....most are intent on watching the kids vs. where they are going. However, the spotter rule change won't correct this issue of looking the wrong direction.
