MCX vs Indmar 351

Just wondering what the differences are, previously had a 2007 MCX in a X2, after much debate have decided to save the money and pull the trigger on a used 2011 X2 with 60 hours, but before I do the dealer says it is fitted with the Indmar 351 salterwater series engine, just wondering how it would compare to my old MCX that I had, couldnt seem to find any info on it sorry if its a stupid question!

Is it the Predator 350 or does it have an old repurposed Indmar Ford in it? If it's the multiport era Chevy 350 at 310 hp, it's a fine motor. But whether it's enough to push an X2 loaded with ballast is something to think about.

The boats in another state and the dealer just says its fitted with the 351hp indmar marine engine. When we ask for specifics they just say come have a look (which we obviously will before we buy) but I don't really want to fly interstate just to realise it's not the engine that we want. So was hoping to find some info on the engine here so when I speak to the dealer again more specifically about the motor I have some knowledge myself so I don't just have to purely rely on what he says

Odd that the seller doesn't want to devuldge many details about said boat. I would ask for numerous photos of different components at different angles before I trecked to a different state to look at a boat.

I would post a location and see if someone local can stop in and get the low down. If it is near me, I would be happy to take a look and report my findings.

Next time you call them, ask them for a picture. Ford hasn't made a 5.8 (351 cu) marine engine since the 90s, a new one hasn't been put in a boat since 2002, and there hasn't been an Indmar 351 since 1993.

Well, I think the important thing may be the statement that it's a "351hp indmar", not a "351 cubic inch Indmar". Are any of the engines from 2011 rated at 351 HP?

I would guess that it's a closed cooled MCX, but a picture's worth a thousand words.
