My X-30 had the 5.7 and no auto launch (2012). The engine was fine for everything we did, completely loaded (750's in rear lockers) additional people had to move to bow to get on plane if we had 10+ people in boat. Surfing was never an issue. 5.7 with auto launch will do everything well!

Not owning an x30 but guessing based on my boat and engine/transmission setup: they are going to use different props. I would think the boat will do what it was designed to do regardless of the engine. You may get there slower or have a lower top speed due to making the prop easier for the engine to spin but it's highly unlikely that you'd not be able to do what the boat was made to do. Ready for the flaming =)
