Visiting Dallas Area - Any Ski lakes?

Heading to Dallas this week for potential relocation for work.

Looking for guidance on ski lakes to visit. We have a 197 and would like to find either (1) lakefront property for weekend home, or (2) private ski lake lot/memberships.

I know there are several TT Members with "ski" boats in the area...where can I use my boat?

Tons of us... where exactly would you be working?

Princeton ski lakes for north DFW, Granbury has a private ski lake as well if you're in South DFW. I boat on Granbury.. born and raised. Could look at stuff for you if you need to down there as well.

My office is in the heart of downtown Dallas on Ross Ave.

I'm familiar with Princeton Lakes, but the wife also wants the ability to get to open water (if there is anything within 90 minutes or so of Dallas suburbs). Coming from the Midwest, even the larger lakes have lots of coves where a small boat like ours can find calm water. I'm hoping that can be found somewhere in Texas.

Granbury looks nice...I may take a drive on Friday.

I just relocated to DFW for work and have a 197. I opted to live in Fort Worth instead of Dallas due to proximity to our warehouse and desire to not work from home.

The 197 is a fantastic SKI boat, and I love how reliable it is. However, for everything else it is pretty much worthless, especially on the bigger bodies of water around here. I've thought several times about moving up to an X2, however I still don't think that's big enough for what I really want, so I've decided to scrap the idea and stick with the 197. I plan on joining a ski club (Metroplex Ski Club) and using it just for that, and then down the road I will purchase a bigger Mastercraft for surfing/wakeboarding, lounging. I mention all of this because if your wife likes to cruise on bigger bodies of water, then plan on doing it during the week or not at all in a 197.

Aric and SEVERAL other people I've talked with said Granbury is both a fantastic body of water and town to raise a family in. My wife and I plan on making a trip thru there at some point in the next couple of months to check it out. It looks really nice from the pictures online.

PM me if you want additional input on my relo experience thus far in DFW. So far it's been 3 months for us.

Possum Kingdom is a nice lake to cruise and ski as well and if you want to cruise with the big boats theres Lake Texoma
whatever lake you choose to cruise around North Texas remember to keep your bow high

Cool

All depends on where you are living...DFW is a huge area! All skiing here sucks!

C'mon now. It can't all suck...you wouldn't have a 197 if you couldn't use it somewhere, right?

It's all terrible...People should take their boats and move somewhere else!
