Lake front property near Salt Lake City Utah

What lakes out west near Salt Lake (excluding the few man made ski lakes) have the ability to have a house and a dock on the lake. I see these awesome pictures around the country of lake homes and docks with lifts, and there is nothing like that around here that I know of. What's the closest place for a lake house with dock?

I wonder what the best areas of the country are for lakefront w/ dock houses?
I know the southeast has a ton, and I guess the upper Midwest, but the ice forces everyone to take docks in and out.

Austin Texas seems to have some of the nicest lake houses

We have a lot of freshwater and saltwater frontage in Washington and ice is rarely an issue.

I know you said "other than private lakes", but Bear Hollow is awesome!

Most lakes in UT are state parks so you're very limited. You likely have to go to ID. There are some great options at Island Park, or a bit of a secret spot on the Snake River near Burley. There's a reason you see dozens of houseboats and hb shares on KSL.com. Limited supply of waterfront.

Last Chance Lakes (Toole) still has some lots available. Not sure if you've looked into this private lake.

Bear Lake has 'water front' but it's been a while since the lake was high enough to use a dock.

Indeed, you could move anywhere in or close to TN and find amazing homes for cheap compared to Island Park and the water is WARM.
