Eh...tough to say...I am a firm believer that it is better to have it and not need it vs. the alternative. That being said, the few extra hundred pounds probably makes a difference, but would be somewhat unperceivable when riding.

I did add two 750 fat sacks last time out (centered, one on the floor and one on the seat)...yeah it is a damn big wave. The two guys out with me were like holy %$#!

I would like to hear more about the new XStar with the gen 2 system and of course see pics pics pics of it. I am in the market for a new surf boat and I have always loved the looks of the star over any other boat out there. and yes I have even bought one star new back in 2005. Please help me decide : MC star, X30, X46 or my new thing with a G23 NSS. One of those I hope will be my new ride.

Read this thread as it gives some interesting thoughts about g23 vs X30.
http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=62984

I have also just ridden a new X10 gen 2, a new lsv 23 and a stock g23 and would go with my x30 or an x10 with gen 2 any day. Much cleaner wave with longer pocket than the other two brands. Just an opinion though....

I agree the g23 makes a huge wake .... It is lacking in length though .... Spent all day trying to get length .... Couldn't do it .... Had weight up front .... Even went 11.8 ... This is not an opinion it's a fact .... On a positive note the boat was really nice

With a listed X45 and a 8.1 HO engine I was able to produce a really really nice surfing wave which was huge. The only problem has that the boat was absolutely terrible to drive listed that much, so I am looking for a modern solution to produce something similar. G23 seems to be the nicest looking package at the moment, but how does it compare with the X45 surf wave. It is really hard for me to believe that you cannot get length to it. Have to hop on to nautique site to get some opinions. great to hear that the X30 surf wake is nice. I just really dislike the normal nose on that boat and it somewhat seems not on par with the G23 features or the Star features... I don't know.....
