Best Speakers on a budget?

Looking to upgrade the stock 6x9s in my 98 PS190. Don't really want to break the bank but she could definitely use an upgrade. Anyone have any recommendations? I'll probably replace the deck too so I can plug in an aux cord, so recommendations there would also be great... Thanks!

In an older boat, I had upgraded to JBL Marine 6X9's and was very impressed with sound and build quality. Circa $100 per pair. Maybe also do a cheap non-marine amp and mount it beneath the bow.

I should probably consider doing a dual battery set up at some point if I put an amp in too, or could I get by without?

I run 2 amps and one marine battery. But I do not sit on the lake for hours listening to music. When we're on the lake, we're skiing not parked at a tie up drinking.

Okay, I hardly ever anchor up and just sit. But Flathead is a big lake and I've had battery issues in the past (with numerous boats) so I just want to make sure I don't put myself in a hairy situation . Great to know I can get by with one battery though, thank you.

Been extremely happy with my Polk speakers. The DB series are good the MM series are great. Both are rated for marine use.

I have Infinity marine speakers. Much better than what was there originally! Driven by Alpine Marine head deck.
